Walking in full armor with your spurs clattering on the rocks you hear the voice of those who sent you out. "Guard the ancient splendor! Make sufficient the occult powers of the original!" Then you dig the pointey toe of your armored bootie in the sand and think about how long it's been since the last man said to you, "I can do anything I want to you!" The reflection in the water is of straps of iron that hide the grizzled grey of your hair and the wrinkled forehead of unlimited search for closure.
