Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Look at the fur on that thing! I never realized they were that fuzzy. Great capture!

Stunning color and macro. You can see all the hairs on it.

fur, yes! (from now on I'll just read tara...although your other fans are great too...) I love this flower! Besides the fact it has really thick hair—the brazilian hippie of flowers—you got tiny spider-silks in the shot, weaving around the periphery. (Full-view helps with that...) I assume the reason there isn't a full web is that no self-respecting spider would go near these flowers—they're formidable! Also we can see the hint of intense violet where the petals are beginning to open. Amazing...I don't wanna sound overly protective, but hope you're wearing protective goggles. That's one intense flower...and I like the gold trim around the leaves too...a great series. I think you should call up its relatives, maybe they come in blues and greens too...

Ha...this reminds me of one of the formidable triffids from a really bad B move--"Attack of the Trifids." I like that about this piece, though I have to say that the fuzz on this fella is quite impressive as well. I love the colors here; the intensity is amazing and so well controlled. Red flowers are so hard to photograph in the right way and you've caught that red perfectly...the hints of violet are amazing as well. In short, this is an amazing piece of work!
