That arching trunk... Its beautiful..! But, I really think that this image doesn't need a soft-focus filter as there are evidences of a brightly lit sky and a strongly shining sun... But, you're the boss... :)

The fogalizer was just a test.. Had I been thinking I would have shot another without to compare.

Those bent trees really are great! I'd love to get a shot of one (or the pair) using a wider aperture in order to isolate it from the rest of the scene. Have you tried that fog filter stacked with another one, like a neutral density or skylight filter? I wonder if that would help to create the illusion of a darker, more overcast day, which you'd normally associate with foggy conditions.
