G'day,
and thank you for the chance to introduce myself......
okay, that sounds waaaay too stuffy.... how about this then...... I was raised on Canadian Army Bases which limited the type of grand exposure that my peers would have enjoyed... (In High School, every one of my City Friends would spend Monday mornings talking about Saturday Night Live.... I had no idea what an Ackroyd or a Belushi was....). but you learn.......
I am mostly self taught as no respectable art school would have anything to do with me.
I make movies, live and animated, am one half of a Jazz Duo (called Three Men With Mono.... I play with another animator, the astounding Richard Reeves... and yeah we know, a duo is less than 3 men... but hey....Grand Funk Railroad isn't a Railroad, Iron Butterfly isn't an insect.... and Pink Floyd is well...)
I work in digital photography, Poser (which rules), Bryce, Deluxe Paint 4 (yes I still have working Amiga's), and anything that functions for me...and I'm developing a new animation technique for using with inexpensive digital cameras.
I am currently living in Medicine Hat, Alberta, with 2 robot dogs and my dreams....
and unless you've made other plans, have a great day!

Zero-G.... that split second when you slip on ice and are floating wieghtless....... just for a moment, where you think, foolishley "wow, this oisn't all that bad.... I could stay here forever...." and then Gravity has her way with you.....and slamms you hard to the ground. there are two ways to survive this.... 1) roll with it.... take the fall but disipate all the ooomf by rolling through the action, saving your butt from violent bruising 2) throw out your arms and legs, splaying them as wide as possible, keeping your head tucked in.... splaying the limbs out will also disipate the impact, keeping your head tucked in to avoid having it bounce off the harder than rock ice. Once you have landed, take a moment to just lay there and take stock of yourself and any injuries, slowly regaining your footing, Get up, brush thyself off and if anybody saw you, just smile, shrug your shoulders and hie thee off to the nearest Doctor ( Doctor Doarte comes to mind) to make sure that the plumbing is still connected. Remember, Gravity is a harsh mistress.... she don't like humans all that much.... she will have her naughty way with you and walk away smiling...... this is a public service, which probably won't make much sense to anyone who lives in the warmer climes, away from such ugh as icy sidewalks.... and unless you've made other plans, have a safe day.

Thanx for the safety tips...even though it was above 30C where I live, down south in high-country we also had a dump of snow, so this helpful advice will come in very handy for some other Ozzies !!! Actually this Zero-G scene reminds me trying out my friends roller-blades, wish I had had a pillow strapped to my bum...OUCH ! Fun stuff and neato toon shading on that poor fellow ! ~Cheers~
