I always figured there were some advantages to taking a bondsman (or bondswoman) that did not occur to some people, thus one more reason I was always a fan of the Clans. Thanks for viewing!

I was thinking that the bondswoman walked ahead of the mech to check for land mines. :)

Yep, it's actually based on a battletech character of mine. She was a House Steiner noble and mech pilot. I was a Jade Falcon clansman who piloted a Timberwolf (the mech in the picture) and she piloted a Banshee. As per Clan law, I beat her in fair battle and she became my bondswoman, and I was her bondholder (somewhere between Master and slave, and knight and squire). She was sort of my scout. Eventually she became a full-on clan member and I got her a Kit Fox to pilot.
