Description

While riding along the biketrail,I found these appropriately named mushrooms. They smell like rotting flesh in order to attract flies and other insects to help disperse their spores. Thank you for looking.

Interesting shot and info, Jim. It almost sound like the mushrooms need insects to survive. Funny name...stinkhorn. If the name suits well.. I guess they smell really bad. #;o)

Amazing that something with no apparent practical use is so strong on survival as this. Wonderful find.
