BUY THIS CAR!!!
Fifty-second in a series of classic vehicles, captured 9/21/08, at the beautiful Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance, held annually at the beautiful Trump National Golf Club on the beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula in overpopulated Southern California.
For more information on this event, see my posting for 9/28/08.
If you've been getting bored and nodding off looking at the many beautiful autos in this series, then this should have you sit up and take notice.
And, if you're seeking detailed information on this leviathan, be my guest and try Googling it.
I like the hefty boiler plate aura about this macho beauty, right down to the rivets.
I have no idea what the engine is all about, whether it's internal combustion, steam, electric, magnetic, ion, or antimatter, but the third photo shows the right side of it looking forward, the bottom pic the engine looking aft.
This is the last of the short series on this particular auto.
Thankx for popping in, and have a Monday of epic proportions.

I can't get over how tall this vehicle is. The engine looks huge but that fits the proportions of this beast. When looking at the third and fourth photos, the six neat brass or bronze "thingees" remind me of candlestick holders :-) Wonder if they are some type of mini-carburators??? Bill

It looks like a six with cylinders in pairs like a very early Packard. The brass priming cups for starting and the separations between say this. The water manifolding is also similar to Packard practice above the cylinders with brass tees for the front cylinders and an elbow for the two rear. I'd say it is a T-head six that burns gasoline. If you look really carefully at the white blasts you can see the six sparkplugs attached to the black ignition wires coming from the conduit running along this side. What is at the back is probably not an ignition coli but a switch and the magneto is on the other side attached to the brown striped wire ging over theer.

This is a huge puppy...and looks like a crank start..bet that would be a chore or an armbreaker or both..

Maybe it's nuclear-powered? And are those lamp sockets arising from the engine block? The long piece looks like a bicycle pump... OK, I'm just kidding around. I'm still very intrigued by this behemoth, especially now that you've let us see the inner workings. Great series!

It's a steam punks dream come true. Just look at all that brass. Fantastic presentation of a beautiful piece of machinery.

I don't know nothing 'bout cars but this engine looks neat... The shape of the nose somehow makes we want to plough a field with it or something... Women and cars... pfft! :)

What a monster, this bad boy looks like it was made to tear up the asphalt. Wonderful captures Harry, I really like the engine shots.
