Description
A family celebration this W/E took me back to the village where I grew up in East Lancashire. My mother ( not me) was born in the farm on this hillside, in a different world than the present..this village had mills along the valleys and hill farms both have now largely disappeared. In the 14thc this land was enclosed as a deer park for hunting by one of the most powerful men in England..remains of the ditches are visible in some places still.
