Description


This is an old working dock on Humboldt Bay. It's probably been there for 100 years, when lumber was king and the fish were plentiful. Times have changed, but this dock hasn't.

I like how the water refracts the wood and makes the structure look a tad lopsided, I would love to explore beneath this pier when the tide was out. That is if the tide does go out here, I know some harbours always have water in them even at low tide. I also think that there could well be some interesting artifacts below the decking buried in the sand/mud. Excellent and interesting capture Marylin. Bravo!!!!!

really nice capture, with the reflection close enough to the actual dock that it almost looks like a painting. Really nice play between real and reflection, with lots of subtle differences between them...Nice too that you didn't capture the sky, but instead gave it to us below: Its reflection serves as the 'heavens'...
