Description

The endless days with no escape Thoughts of you in distant place One picture printed on my mind Eyes closed or open I see your face. Joy and sadness fill my days My heart and soul are aching. I long to see you soon again To end the eternal waiting. I agree with Pushinfaders about the cats. The young woman is the center of attention and the eye should not be distracted from her. Everything else is a frame. The cats do not figure, directly or indirectly, in the poem. A well selected piece to the atmosphere and mood of it all. All that said, this is a wonderful render.

Great shot, Ionel, excellent postwork! The way I see it, the cats are waiting too, even if they're looking to the opposite side, so they fit in the image, they don't distract at all...

I'm in the group which feel the cats don't detract from the photo. To me the young lady, lost within herself doesn't hear the approaching footsteps however the cats do and being cats they just have to eye it all in... great photo!!

Yup, I'd add a large dog and then wait for it to run the cats off and over the landscape that gentle lady was looking at. This has a classic air and the B/W is perfect.

I have to say though I'm a cat fan that they don't do anything for me here... I didn't notice them at first, the sitting girl is the main focus of attention, and as soon as my eye was drawn to her I was reminded of the work of Caspar David Friedrich... there's a particular painting I've been trying to google for the past short while with no success, which I think this is reminiscent of... but managed to find this which is indicative of his style (if you're not familiar with it) and, I think, in the same vein. And this is definitely a compliment as I'm a real admirer of his work... I think lose the cats and you've got a real classic image - well done!

I am also with the anti cat brigade Ionel, but to whom does the image belong?? The artist sees it so, and I am not one to deny the artist. There is a saying 'Quite as the church mice' so if the church has mice why not cats?? I like how you have left your mark on the right of the arch as well, it looks like it belongs. Excellent work really, in spite of the cats. #;0) Bravo!!!!!
