My real NAME TIMOTHY STANDISH. i was born just months before the dawn of the Space age, so my love of science fiction should be no suprise. As I evolved I also found out about comic books, fantasy, and mystery stories. just recently I’ve added some of the paranomal/action/romance genre to my reading list. I’ve always been interested in art and at one time even managed a small art store. I currently work at FLORIDA TODAY as a graphic artist in the newsroom. and have worked for the Gannett Corperation for almost 17 years.

Thanks everyone. I did wake up this morning and made some minor changes to it. Mostly elongated her body, slight color corrections and cropping.

Impressive. It was great to see the progression on this piece. Definately not dissappointed by the final result. The lighting and all of the textures are outstanding. A winner for sure!

i don't think it's too busy at all. i think the composition is good, and the lighting is dramatic and dynamic, and the elements are great. i especially love her hair and the ribbons. altogether a very professionally executed piece. the only problems i have are the ones i mentioned before regarding how it fits the intended theme, tone and subject matter (not at all, imho, she still looks like a british or maybe celtic witch of a much later time period), and her left hand looks very awkward (though not necessarily incorrect). i would have mentioned it before, but i thought the final shading would make it look more graceful. i like the overall shape of her hands, which is impressive in itself. but that left one looks almost like it's showing two different perspectives: straight on (pinky and hand's edge) and 3/4 or more (other three fingers and thumb). i'm not sure that it wouldn't happen in real life, but it still looks awkward. if her hand were edge on and showed little if any palm, it would look more graceful.

This is a really fascinating work, I love all the elements that you've put in, tying it to the stories of Medea. I don't consider it to be too busy, at all. I find the presence of the raven interesting, too. I'm not as familiar with Greek mythology as I should be, but I do know that ravens were messengers from Odin, so I presume they had a similar role in Greek mythology. Excellent painting!
