I've seen this sharp looking fighter in my armaments book. Great render, as always.

Hullo geoffgeoffp, I like your rendering of one of the last of the piston engined fighters and this reminds me of the two very sleek turbo-prop prototypes which disappeared under the weight of pure jet peference for fighters. One was the Westland Wyevern, an obvious Spitfire replacement which took those lines to the ultimate in aircraft beauty. The other was the strangely named Welkin, I forget the maker, which did something similar with the DH Mosquito's pattern. That it had to happen was inevitable but it left almost a sense of bereavement at their being stillborn. I would like to see these two featured on your homepage sometime in the future. Thank you, nobbywebfoot

a Spitfire, by another name, would fly as sweet...but i suppose this was the point where they had stretched and tweaked and bent it to where they just had to call it something else. i had not realised that they changed the wing so much.

great work, front of a spitfire and back of a typhoon.

Ah! The next step up from the Griffon Spitfire. A long forgotten and very powerful Fighter. Great render. Cheers again! Rob.

Beautiful work. Pity it arrived too late for the war.

Is it my imagination, are the wing/body proportions becoming more even? Aesthetically the wing shape of the Spitfire are more pleasing.
