Description

Certainly not one of my best. Mostly what Deevee would call "doodling." Basically, it was just an excuse to use one of the models I downloaded from the Google SketchUp Warehouse. There's a lot of junk in there, but also a surprising number of very nice models, too. This particular truck model had no truck bed, so I kaboshed one from one of Ed Baumgarten's "Bullets and Beans" WWII trucks. Had to change the glass texture for the windows, too. Originally, I wanted to have it passing a caravan of camels going in the opposite direction, but couldn't find my model for a camel pack, which I do have somewhere, so I had to forego that business. Thanks for looking and for any comments. They are always appreciated--even the constructive negative ones. Over here in America, we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow. Despite the economic situation and the wars, we have much for which to be thankful. Not the least among my blessings, this year, has been my friends at Renderosity. Jeremy CREDITS: Vue Pro Studio 6, Poser 6. Truck: "Bremach X" (Google Sketchup Warehouse) and Ed Baumgarten's "Beans and Bullets." Driver: DAZ's M3 with "Russell Updated for M3 morph and texture" by Nouschka. His clothing is from PoserWorld. Grasses: from Linda Daireaux's "Lush Tall Grasses" (Cornucopia3d). Dried Bush: from Vue 6 plant folder. Road Texture: by Judith Ward (RDNA).

Maybe not one of your best IYO but it turned out pretty good. I like the dust cloud. Nice touch, and often over looked. Gives a nice sense of movement to the truck, trucking along. :O)

Yeah, but it IS the dust clouds that I am the most unhappy about; they still look too much like the spheres they are. I probably should have made them a bit more fuzzy or not so solid looking.

Actually the dust doesn't look that bad -- maybe a bit more graininess in the texture. It is a good detail to include. An Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!

Looks good to me. If that is supposed to be at the sand box I would suspect the barrels are full of ANFO. LOL.

The dust looks fine for this image my friend, it goes with everything just right. No need to beat yourself up about it either, some one once told me our expectations outstrip our beliefs, or some such......bearded chap he was too lol

I keep coming back to this. I like that you put dust clouds in these types of images. I can sort of understand your comment about them looking too much like spheres, but I think that the one by the front tire looks really good. I think that I agree with the suggestion of making them look more grainy, perhaps. Dust is really hard to do, which is why I've shied away from trying that kind of effect in Bryce. I'm impressed that not only to you tackle it, but you do a pretty darn good job with it, too.
