Clyde on the left, (surfer type kid fresh from the country) and Jeremy on the right, (older, but wiser? mentor type). To continue this story, Jeremy has been doing most of the talking as they walk off the pier. Jeremy steers Clyde toward the parking lot where his wheels await. They get up to Jeremy's car where he makes his remark about supper. Clyde may be from the country, but his instincts for survival are strong. 'Well, my momma taught me not to go with strangers, and I really don't know you that well yet, Jeremy. I think I will pass on your invitation for now. I have enough money to get by for awhile. I got myself a little room nearby so I'll be alright. Why don't we get together tomorrow sometime and get to know each other better?' Jeremy is quite taken back by Clyde's remarks, but he finds he isn't offended. In fact, he is rather pleased that Clyde isn't just a little lamb to be taken away and fleeced. He hasn't come across anyone like this for quite awhile. 'Sure', Jeremy says. 'That will be fine. I'll be down by the pier tomorrow around noon, if you want to catch a bite at that hamburger stand nearby. See you then?' 'You bet!' says Clyde. 'I'll bring my appetite!'
