Description
I am putting this monster in here even though technically, it is just a test render. If I'd meant it to be a picture, I'd have put more background elements, maybe a few droplets of water around the base, y'know, artsy-fartsy it up a lil' bit. If I'd meant it to be a picture. I meant it to be a test of my ice material, but oh, the naiveté of yesterday. I thought I could accomplish a test render in a reasonable amount of time on a 2gHz machine with 1G RAM--after adding IBL and AO in addition to the raytracing and displacement. Started the render, went to bed. When I got up I was delighted with the results, except for the fact that it was only down to the neck. I decided to give it a few more hours...and then my lovely mate donated his computer time to seeing how it would come out...and I just could not bring myself to cancel the durn thing. So here it sits after a TWENTY THREE HOUR RENDER as a testament to stubbornness (and my pride in my stupid ice material).

Thank you for your patience. Simplicity often makes powerful images. I like it. Jim

That's very pretty. I used the same model in a scene some time back. It makes for such a nice render!!!
