Description

The ancients talk about a prophecy. They say that when the mother-planet kisses our land and our sister-moon forms a line with the Big Blue Star, then it's time to build the Great Pyramid. This will be a tribute to our mothers and fathers, the great pyramid builders from the mother-planet, who spread their seeds through this and many other worlds. --------------------------------- Please watch full size, it's big. This is a variation on my previous image, link below. This takes place before the pyramids you saw there where built. I thought the concepts I introduced in the text would be fun: to have a habitable planet that is in fact a moon of a bigger planet which on the other hand, is also habitable and from there came the ancestors of the moon people. Think about it for a while, wouldn't that be really cool? :-) Like before, this was rendered in Global Radiosity, in Vue7, with only one light source (the sun, on the right). I modelled the terrain in GC2, as usual. The clouds are the new spectral 2 and the starfield is a photo from the Hubble, applied in an alphaplane. No postwork, except for sig and frame and a minor level and sharpness adjustment. thumb_1786915.jpg Thanks for watching!

Stunning atmosphere and a strangely beautiful alien world, I see the pyramid additions in the same vain as the monoliths from 2001.

i think this one is a lot stronger than the one with the pyramids. it has the same (or similar) great lighting, but the cliffs are allowed to be the central focus of the image. they are wonderfully shaped. i think that's one reason the pyramids seemed out of place in the last one. typically, pyramids dominate the landscape they're in, and there they seemed like small, low-lying buildings compared to the cliffs. you've also given us more space to appreciate the water and its blurred reflections. i'm impressed by the lack of grain.

Love the water and sky textures, especially the sky. It's hard to imagine that it's an alpha plane, the illusion of space is incredible.
