I'm really excited about this one. I came up with it at work on Thanksgiving, and at 4 in the morning I was trying to pick a final version to submit. It's a strange fractal, growing as it renders...it keeps folding the spheres more and more within its growing arms. (Actually, it first brought to mind a sonnet by Elizabeth Barrett Browning ...Alas, I have grieved so I am hard to love. Yet love me--wilt thou? Open thine heart wide, and fold within the wet wings of thy dove.) I used the bittersweet photograph I previously submitted as a surface texture for the fractal, and it turned out incredibly well. I love this new technique...think of all the wonderful things you can redefine, reinterpret, as fractals. (Some lovely body parts first come to mind.)
