Description

NebtHet (Greek: Nephthys), the twin of Auset (Greek: Isis) leads us and guards our souls in the journey to everlasting life after passing this world. Here she is on the funerary boat transporting the deceased's Ba (the eternal part of the soul) into the afterlife and onto the Boat of Millions of Years. The "bennu bird' at the prow and stern of the boat signify the ba of the deceased. NebtHet, Beloved, I offer this image as a gift of my creativity. Accept it NebtHet, for I give to you That Which Is Yours. This image is as it came out of the renderer. NO postwork other than the frame and lettering. NebtHet posed in Poser, everything rendered in view.

Thanks for your comment, and here's the answer to your questions: The upper left star in the constellation Orion is actually a red giant. Most people don't know that as it is hard to see with the naked eye. In fact a couple of the stars in the Orion model are slightly different colors corresponding to their actual color, but the glow kinda masks it in the image. Orion is associated as the origin of Asar (Greek: Osiris) who is Lord of the Afterlife, as well as having given his life for the welfare of our world. The large star to below and left is Sirius (Sothis in the Greek and Sopdet to the ancient Egyptians) is the brightest star in our sky, and is in Egyptian theology the origin of Isis, Nephthys and Set.

I am impressed with your knowledge of Ancient Egyptian mythology and symbolism (and spelling, at least in terms to how Ancient Egyptian names would be spelled in the contemporary Roman alphabet.) Aside from that, however, this is a great render, full of accurate symbolism. Fantastic work on all counts, including more bits of accuracy than I can go into in the space of a tiny comment.
