Les initiateurs de cette compétition soulignent leur volonté de promouvoir l’élevage du dromadaire, qui fait partie du patrimoine culturel sahraoui, de renforcer les liens entre les différentes composantes de la société sahraouie et l’encouragement à la sédentarisation des populations nomades. Parmi les objectifs, également, évoqués : la valorisation des dromadaires de course, la création et la diversification des activités sportives, culturelle et touristique dans la région ainsi que la création d’un espace de distraction pour cette population. Au sein des spectateurs et des participants, l’enthousiasme est au rendez-vous : « vous n’imaginez pas à quel point cette course m’a fait plaisir. Elle m’a donné le sentiment d’être un véritable cavalier », lance Mohamed Salah Bilal, l’un des participants à ces courses. The initiators of this competition underline their will to promote the breeding of the dromedary, which belongs to the cultural heritage sahraoui, to reinforce the bonds between the various components of the company sahraouie and the encouragement with the sedentarisation of the wandering populations.
