"Wait! You forgot your bag!"
I have uploaded a lot of cell-shaded anime recently, but today, I have a full photorealistic 3D anime scene. I think it turned out nicely. 6 hours to render, because I used Carrara's indirect lighting feature. The result is fantastic, but it is slow. I welcome comments on what could be improved.

Great job!! They just keep getting better and better! Not sure about Carrara. My longest so far has been about 3 hours. Keep up the great work though!!!

I like the action. But six hours is really long... for this scene. But then my record is seven and half hours with Vue, a very complex scene with 2,7 milion polygons.

The visual flow/composition is wonderful; the way the three bodies stand in the angled hallway. Length to render of course also relates to horsepower; single-vs-quad core and so on. I hear of people running Poser on a notebook ... I don't even like running MSOffice 2007 for work on a notebook :-) I think my max render in poser 7 with Quad so far is 45 minutes for a 2000x2400 with fancy lighting.

Cool- your really onto something here, the blend of hi-res models, global illumination and an anime style is unique and delightful. Top stuff. I hope they fix V4/A4's eyes properly in C7

I like the movement in this scene. The render quality is amazing (really pushing me to install Carrara now!) I think the only thing I see weird is the direction of Hiro's shadow (then again there could be multiple lights, thus shadow will have different direction from A4. Once again another great Anime class render Job

Cool! Anime in Carrara :) I've never tried looking for Anime renders before, although I just tried one myself. Definitely a nice scene, good use of depth of field, camera focusing directly on the girl. Looks like she's really late to be bolting like that :) Only thing missing perhaps is florescent ceiling light fixtures. Although I dunno if theres actually such a prop like that. Putting a few rectangular white planes would've sufficed. appearing to be flush with the ceiling itself. If anything it would help show where the bright lighting is. I'll echo the statements about single or dual core vs quad core. Indirect lighting does cause render times to take a hit, moreso when you include sunlight as well, but I think it's well worth it. It also makes quad cores well worth the upgrade, for the time savings. Although, lots of times I also set the system to render if I'm heading out, or going to sleep. All in all, great scene! Would like to see more of your Carrara Anime renders :)
