Description

Return to the Moon (Part3) This is my design for the new moon Lander that will hopefully be taking 4 astronauts back to the moon by 2018. The new Lander has to be capable of sustaining a crew of 4 astronauts on the surface of the moon for at least 14 days. The decent stage will also carry a new rover that will have the capabilities of carrying 4 astronauts on extended excursions that may last over 24 hours. The rover that you see in this picture is design for only 2 astronauts and only for short range exploration of the moon surface. As the program develops I believe that we will see either pressurize vehicles with the capabilities of long duration exploration that will require astronauts to remain away from the Lander for extended lengths of time. This is something I hope to show in up coming pictures of this project. Cheers, David

Nice detail on the steps on the ascent model, and on the rover compartment there in the side.

Too young and too old. Oh well, I can still imagine. Another masterful rendering!

Awesome as usual. Beautiful. I guess you've heard, by now, that they are planning a NASA probe to give them definitive data on water encapsulated in the moon's soil, ostensibly for future ventures/colonization. That probe looks cool. I'd love to see your version of it. :)

It always fascinates me how the Moon is almost all grey monochromatic shades and the only real colours are from those things we bring with us to that world. Excellent render!
