Description

Rendered in Bryce 6.1 on an intel mac, from an hf and texture created in l3dt in win XP on the same machine. Hurray for Bootcamp! Most notable attribute was the use of the Avalanche tool to create(I think) somewhat convincing glacial features .

Yeah. In l3dt, once you've finished with the design stage and created a heightfield, you can modify that hf in the 3d view using a set of editing tools. Most of these are fairly basic. L3dt's forté isn't hf editing so much as it's design map stage, but I DO like that Avalanche tool. Since my recent acquisition(theft, whatever) of an intel mac and a strangely non-bootleg copy of win xp, I've been going crazy playing with all the win-based terrain-editing toys. I'll give capsule reviews of the various tools as I post images of terrains made with them if anybody's remotely interested. Probably even if they are not.

Very nice terrain. I've not tried many terrain editors, but this really makes me think it's time to give them a try.
