Description

A recurring character from the Ring of Steel, a Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms campaign set in and around Harrowdale. ““Dog is a mad man for sure! But a man of his word… Literally!” Morigan warned them, her tone heavy with weight of knowing far too much on the subject. “If he says he will whore her to every filthy seadog on the Dragonisle, then that’s exactly what he will do!” “The question remains,” Dorn’s voice retained its constant calm. “Will you help us?” Morigan scanned the table, eyeing each of them with a measuring stare. She had waited nearly a decade for the chance to avenge her father’s death, but, although she had faced what few men would dare with out fear, the very thought of facing her uncle was like a cold hand closing around her heart. However, fate had dropped this chance in her lap, and she could not deny it. “I’ll take you to the Dragonisle,” her voice was strong and confident, but her eyes betrayed her fear, “and help you get aboard his ship, but the girl is no concern of mine… I want Dog’s head!” “Justice is the gods’ will,” Dorn replied. “But if it is to be done, we will not interfere.” Coren eyed Dorn with concern, but he knew his friend was true to his faith in Torm, and, from all that Morigan had told them, Dog truly deserved to die. “It is done then,” Fhariel said coldly. “You get us to his ship, we rescue the girl and you get your revenge.” “It will not be so easily done,” Morigan cautioned them. “Dog’s men are the worst scum on the Sea of Fallen Stars, and nearly as evil as he is. But, we have an agreement. We sail with the morning tide.” They all nodded their consent, and rose from the table… all but Morigan and Dorn. While the others withdrew, he sat quietly, drinking his stout. Morigan took a deep gulp from her own tankard, as she eyed him. He seemed a gentle giant… Strong and calm, but she sensed there was a fury deep with in him, which once woken was as indomitable as his faith. “You do not approve of me,” she stated flatly, over the rim of her tankard. “Justice is the will of the gods,” he replied, eyeing the flame haired captain as if he could see through to her soul. “If it is the gods’ will that you be the instrument of justice against Dog, then it will be so.” “That’s not what I mean,” she said between gulps of stout. “You think I’m a pirate… not much better then Dog.” “I know your family’s reputation,” he confessed. “But, everyone deserves to be judged by his or her own actions.” “So how do you judge me now?” Morigan cooed seductively, seeing his eyes get drawn to her amble bosom as she leaned forward and they all but spilled out of her bodice.” The daughter of “Black” Dak Dungree, the pirate captain of the Scarlet Harlot, Morigan took command at only fifteen when her father was killed by his own brother. Although more a free trader then a pirate, Morigan is still tainted by her family's reputation, but the 'Harlot does business in most of the ports along the Sea of Fallen Stars, the Dragon Reach and the Dragonmere, and, with the rise of Harrowdale Town's port in importance, she has became a frequent, if still not fully welcome, site. Called “Red” Morigan more for her flame red hair, and family tradition, then any blood she may have spilled, she struggled to prove her worth as a captain, but has literally grown into the role, gaining the respect and devotion of her crew. Morigan swore to avenge her father's death, but knows all too well that her uncle earned his name, and although she has faced many dangers with out fear, facing “Mad Dog” Dungree remains the one thing that truly terrifies her.
