Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Love the blues and greens ... gorgeous!
anahata.c
beautiful abstract marilyn, caught to feel almost like a painting, and (with susank & tara) the blues & greens are powerful & they glisten. And I love those squiggly reflection lines too. It's really a vibrant piece. You ought to paint some day (if you already haven't)...You got nice detail on the rafters too.

Nothing wrong with wanting to get out for fresh air especially when you come back with super images as this, fabulous tones and I agree with anahata.c, it is very much like an abstract painting! great stuff!

The wonderful scent of creosote. When it has just the right age it's a draw for woodpeckers. Like fine Bourdeau.

Is that a yacht mast thats reflected in the water top right Marylin? there seems to be more peeking through the gaps at the top as well. Have you used a filter to get those greens and blues? A very interesting image, and thought provoking, raises all sorts of questions, I love those Blues and Greens especially the Blues that highlight the beams. Superb capture. Bravo!!!!!

Beautiful work!

I enjoy old docks for the excitment and challenge they create. I often skip over missing boards and balance on single rails to settle into a spot at the end where I can be alone and enjoy the view. Lovely mood.

Where do I begin with this? Eh, I'll just say I like the whole thing...but seriously, there's so much in this that works so perfectly. The blue and green colors are absolutely fantastic, so incredibly subtle and yet vivid. The light is captured perfectly and the reflections are what really make this pop for me. In short, I love it!

The contrasts created in the reflections is amazing. Great lighting day for this capture.
