Note This is not a complaint, it's simply explaining the thought process that resulted in this piccie When I added Cyberlight to the free stuff gallery, for some reason it got tagged as containing "nudity". Which I thought was odd ... since the character is a gynoid with a metallic skin, no naughty bits, and it's so dark you couldn't see any naughty bits even if she had any (which she doesn't). To me, the logic used to tag the image as containing "nudity" didn't make sense since by the same logic (as I saw it) any skin-tight clothing (or Poser second skin materials for that matter) whould end up with the same tag - be it steel, latex, skintight leather, lycra, or just really tight jeans :P I figure it was just a misunderstanding, the admins have to go through so much stuff during the day they didn't have time (or inclination) to examine the image close enough to be able to tell - one of the downsides to doing artwork that's designed to be subtle and open to interpretation :) But, it did give me an idea - if the emphasis on "bare metal" could be on bare, just what could I do playing with the phrase "naked steel" and a gynoid, especially given the phrase's connection to bladed weapons? The concept seemed to fit into my preference for ambiguous imagery, and so (with thanks to the free stuff admins for kicking open the idea to begin with *grin*), I happily present "Naked Steel Rain". So out of curiosity, when you first see this image, what do you think is "naked" - the gynoid, the steel swords, or even the rain? It could be something completely different, too so please, give me some idea what people notice as the theme's component to their minds!! Core figure is Victoria 4 using the Bot Armour skin and arm armour, with the shoulders and thighs hidden and the colour emphasis changed from the default blue. The pose I think was from Bodylanguage 6, reorganized slightly to make it work in the scene. The headpiece is FrankT's free Medusa armour thingie, with a freebie rDNA texture applied, and the reflection colour tweaked. The eyes were tweaked, adding a red iris/cornea and the sclera changed using the Procedurals neutron scanning green thing (whatever it's called) from Poser itself. The eyesurface colour was changed to red so it would show the red parts better (same way I did it for Steely Eyed Missilegirl) To make sure it was obvious it's a gynoid, I added reflection and refraction nodes to the skin in the Material room, and used a marble 3D texture on the refraction node as well. That gave me the rippled effects on the skin, which made me think of rain, so I added that using a free brush set from deviantArt. Postworked in Photoshop to add the rain, and to overlay wireframe on the armour components, as well as to make the shadowing/AO look better. Clarification: I am a systems administrator, when i use the word "thingie", it's a technical term. Like thingumajig, or the whatsit, or the gizmo, or the whatchamacallit. I hope this clears any confusion.
