Description

One of almost 200 headstones/markers at the Key Underwood Coon Dog Cemetery in Colbert county, AL. In a little clearing in the Freedom Hills Wildlife Management Area, the cemetery was started on Labor Day 1937 when Key Underwood buried his best friend and coondog, Troop. Today almost 200 coondogs lie here having met 3 requirements set down years ago. No other breed of dog is allowed to be buried here.

A very touching tribute to Troop that so many would follow and so many owners would choose for their beloved coonhound to be laid near him. Great shot and interesting one as well.
