Description

1974
The radio blared out the same crap today..no different than yesterday…same news as the day before, month before-same shit. “The unemployment rates have jumped to an all time high, 1.9 million…this number has not been seen since 1974…bla..bla..bla…” I drifted off to 1974 for that one moment—the memories and the fun I was having at 14. Went to the carnival that year I remember; unescorted by my parents for the first time. I had not a care in the world-- Putting my cigarette out I drifted back into the house to do the most horrid job hunting I have ever experienced in my life…. …..submitting resumes and cover letters to the cold-cold World Wide Web…bla..bla..bla XenoDream Beta Tester—XenoDream with a splash of KPT Materializer Explore your Creativity, Get XenoDream. Hehe. 74 I had cancer. I don't remember much, but those colors, and places like the Cheyenne Rodeo and Asbury Park in their heyday. I had a very good job, and they paid all the expenses and even my extra time off from work. A job means everything. My thoughts are with you. Be well and dig in. I had to dig in a lot of times so far. Knock on wood. Thanks for the memories, and my hope is that one day you'll sort this time out very differently, as I've been able to do with 1974.

In 74, I was running myself ragged with 3 year old twins and working full time. Colorado had a pretty harsh winter and then from there on it was nice. Gorgeous work. I do hope something comes up on the job market soon. Hugs, Bunny

Gorgeous image! In '74 I remember my son was a baby and I was working my first job. Life was hard then, but I didn't know any better. I wouldn't go back for anything. Good luck with the job situation and I hope you find something real soon.

I'm glad you took some time out from that ghastly job hunting scene to create this beautiful thingy. Super work. I'm blowed if I can remember what happened in 74. I was probably job seeking!!!!

'74, wow, long time ago. This looks like a handcrafted ferris wheel. Not too sturdy, but that would be typical for these hand knit ferris wheels, grins. Wonderful memories you have of being 14 .. that was eons ago for me .. pre-history, if I remember correctly, LOL!! Doing the usual thing for luck at job hunting .. lighting candles, burning incense, saying prayers, reciting mantras, can we cast some spells? Perhaps sprinkle magical digital dust on the resumes posted on line. Truly keeping fingers crossed for luck in finding something. Cold comfort that you are one of millions waiting for your first unemployment check. This sucks.

A wonderful carnival image. Yes, the news is bad and probably will get worse, but art lives on even in bad times.
