Great color, detail, and that expression. We've had many hundreds of these guys land today on our little lake, where they'll probably stay til Spring. They huddle very close together when it gets very cold. They were really loud for just a little bit until they settled in and decided who gets the best spots! When their food gets scarce, they walk in the street and start foraging in the neighborhood lawns. We're lucky. They don't like our yard-- they're too lazy to fly over the 2- to 3- ft. tall junipers.

terrific detail on the neck & head, we even see the serrations in its lower beak. (I know those are some version of teeth, biologically. Full-view is really amazing.) I love the white spots on his neck too. And yeah, he looks like he's shouting "wazzzup duuuude!" The rest of your shot sets him off well, and you gave us a big swath of his beautiful feathers, which is grand. Nice animal portraiture once again, with that definite sense of humor you manage to impart to animal shots: I agree with Dave, this is one funny bird. )Maybe he does standup, who knows...) Nicely seen & captured, as always.
