Description

My first real attempt at using Poser to produce a good image. It's been a learning curve considering I had no 3D experience, but I am enjoying the learning process. This is a portrait of a Kabuki Actress rendered in Poser Pro using Firefly. Any suggestions and comments and feedback are welcome. Thank you for looking.

Really nice and interesting image, especially for a first image. I do have a few suggestions that might improve it though. 1) Maybe add a back/rim light to bring out the contours of her face - the image has the kind of high-key lighting that lends itself to it. 2) Try a more interesting or dramatic background. Right now its a bit boring and lets the rest of the image down. 3) Personally, the main shadow looks a little harsh. Maybe try increasing the shadow blur radius to soften it? 4) Does the skin have a bump map? It looks a little flat right now, and a bump map could give it a little more depth. Tied into that - have you had a look at BagginsBill's VSS? (There's a long thread on it in the Poser forums) It can do SO much for realism in an image. I hope you don't mind the suggestions, it's just it's nice to see new talent in the gallery and I can see you have a lot of potential!!
