Helvellyn from Keswick
This shot I took near Keswick.The mountains in the background are the Helvellyn range in the Lake District - Cumbria.
I captured this yesterday after a day out in the area.By the time we got there in the late afternoon the sun was dropping fast and the temperature was around -3.
This was a two exposure image as I knew the foreground and mountain snow were never going to work well on one shot.

Superb capture, my friend. I thought that it was a render, when it opened up, especially when I couldn't see Julia Bradbury... ;o) Are you sure that this is the Lake District, it appears dry to me?? Great texture of the frosty pasture, and the dry stane dyke, and that honey warm background of Helvellyn. Thanks for posting this one. in addition to enjoying your usual stunning composition, i get to learn something. it never occurred to me to combine exposures. i just do 3d stuff (my understanding of lighting and composition immediately vacate my head when i get behind a camera), but the concept of tailoring light amounts for different parts of the scene could be helpful.
