There is SO much to be said for a tree, there are just not enough of them. Such a poignant (to me anyway) image. To think that this country was almost all forest on the east coast as far as the great plains states. Now it is mostly open, devoid of the beauty that was here. The whites just did not have the same appreciation for forests as the Native Americans did.
