Description

Hi there. The yesterday mushrooms seems really like glowing. Now, the last part of this series: My Mushroom-Basket after that photo- and collecting session. The basket is filled with Blewit's (Lepista nuda). Yes!! They are eatable- we ate them and are alive again. They are smelling like perfume and the younger ones could be canned sourly. It´s a perfect shroom to be collected because of the most people don´t collect them... ;-) Have a great 2nd Advent and thank you for the kind words.

I love mushrooms, but am not smart enough to ever dare picking them myself!!! I reckon the first one I cooked up would be a Deathcap for sure!!!!!!I was just reading that these Deathcaps are found in many parts of the world. In 1918, 31 children in Poland died after eating a prepared meal of these mushrooms. It is believed that about one in five people who eat them will die. Deathcap Mushrooms contain a powerful toxin (poison) which blocks many of the body’s natural functions. Cooking, freezing, or drying canot destroy the toxin. When a deathcap mushroom is eaten, the affected person may feel all right for up to 24 hours. The first sign of trouble is usually watery diarrhoea. This may appear to settle but is followed by serious illness, usually resulting in kidney or liver failure. Death can occur 7 to 10 days after eating a single mushroom. Good luck with the rest of yours. ;)
