Description

Sometimes you just have the luck of being in the right place at the right time. I was standing on a bridge in the zoo of Muenster/NRW and watched pelicanes when I noticed the reflections on the very calm water. When this guy (or gal? *g*) showed up, I crouched down (in animal photography, I love eye-to-eye-perspective and a low angle - in this case because of the bridge, the angle still was a bit unlucky...) and there was my next "pic of the day". Hope you like it as much as I do (it's one of my favorites). Canon EOS 20d, Tamron 200-500 Regards, Karsten

Stunning Karsten... This is what photography to me is all about - being at the right place at the right time... Glad you got it and shared it with us! :)

One of the most personable pelican shots I've ever seen. The drops of the beak and the seemingly awkward pose is just so very endearing. Fabulous shot all around.

oh, yes, most DEFINITELY! This is AWESome!! I would LOVE to capture a pelican this close up, and there you are, getting a perfect reflection as well! Good job! The best i've done (so far) is getting a shot of about 1/2 dozen of them, way out in the lake ... that was an exciting time for me :)
