Pour Fadox, Souvent, j'aime rajouter un petit chouya de contraste à la plupart de mes photos, mais ce que j'aime dans celle-ci, c'est sa douceur (relative). J'imagine que c'est comme ça que la voient les périgourdins qui ont l'habitude de passer devant. Je ne voulais en faire une image digne d'un manuel d'histoire des années soixante, du moins ceux qui me sont passés par les mains. Ils avaient de belles images mais très contrastées alors qu'ici je voulais donner un sens de quotidien, même si ce n'est pas exactement le mien, comme si dans mes rêves, je passais tous les jours devant cette porte. For Pushingfaders, Often, I like to add a little bit of contrast to my photos but what I like in this one is it (relative) softness. I imagine that it is the way the Perigordeans (?) who are in the habit of passing in front of it see it. I did not want to make it a picture you would have been likely to find in the history textbooks of the sixties, the French ones, at any rate. They had beautiful, but contrasty, pictures, when I wanted to give a sense of daily life as if, in my dream, I'd go by this door every day.
