Another shot from my backyard bird series. I would say the Mockingbirds are one of my favorite backyard residents, but I thing there all a favorite in there on way. Thank you very much for your views and comments!

This brings back memories of my "pet", named mimus, a tiny baby mockingbird I handfed after withdrawing him from a cat's mouth. Unable to return to the wild, I ended up caring for him 9 years! As he matured he became less cuddly, but always vocal and entertaining.They are such a pugnacious species. When I fed him, all the local wild mockingbirds would come around and watch.
