Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

The lines of the keys make a wonderful juxtaposition with the lines of the stair railing; well seen and captured!

I think this is my favorite shot you took of the piano. Awesome stuff!

Beautiful image, I love the way you have selected the parts of the piano, instead of a shot of the whole piano, this is nice work :)

well, feeling bad that I've bypassed some earlier images, I went all the way back to this—just 2 weeks ago! (Ancient history!) This is almost like a painting, you caught a pattern on the black keys which, in their reflection, is in the shadows as well: It's a very painterly pattern with a lot of life, giving those monolithic keys real ceremony & vitality. From these shots, you definitely have a feel for the piano (the 'old 88', as we used to call it) (for the 88 keys on the piano): You capture its sweep and grandeur even closeup. And the stair reflection in the background works very well with the keyboard, it sets it off with nice counterpoint. You have some really fine piano shots, & you've done that home a great service...(and how do they concentrate on playing when the reflections are so beautiful! I'd just stop and look!) Another fine piano shot, & I love your series!
