Description

Thanks to starlightpainter and raindroptheelf, I've discovered the expanded world of DAZ Studios. The parameters tab opens a new world for me in what I can do to my characters and so I will be experimenting on my favorites and if I like the results, I'll upload them for your critique and comments. Zlata was the first to go under the knife as it were to get her to smile. Sarina aka The GIRL, is the next in line. While doing this with the parameters, I'll also be playing with the camera angles and lighting effect as well as other things I saw on the tab but forgot to write down ie refraction, reflection, etc. this gives me a better appreciation for what the rest of you do, when you create an image: beyond selecting a character and doing basic stuff like getting them dressed, posed put hair on their heads, etc. I also know that, compared to a lot of you, I've a long ways to go before I can even match the quality of the renders you create. What helps me, is when you post your comments about how you set the scene, lighting, posing and all that. I pay attention to what you write and I try to apply what you say to what I'm doing. So Cute Mike and her smile is very nicely done...I am no help in the lights, but if I can ever help with anything else let me know...I wish I had someone to sit beside me a walk through daz lol.

Very good start. Lighting is a matter of effects you want to achieve. "Straight on" eg flat lighting will rob you of depth & texture detailing. Since I started way back with photography; when I'm constructing a scene, my focus is the light source relative to the scene & objects. Think of your scene as the face of a clock: Light at"5pm" will give different effects than light at "11am" even 'tho they're on the same diagonal angle. A lot of people don't get it. I'm sorry; but it's an unfortunate reality with some folks galleries.
