Description

A few days ago I posted a low light shot of a ceramic box that had belonged to my great-grandmother. It's full of safety pins, and Ronnie asked me to take a picture of the pins. So here you go, my dear! :) A few of the things that were rattling around in the bottom of that pin box. Turns out there's more than just safety pins in there! This is another low light shot (it's only fitting, since Ronnie is the one who taught me how to do the light setup) although the light level is a bit higher than some of the others I've done. I seem to get a slightly different result every time!

The gold tone realy match a theme. Like a crop a lot. Looks like pin boxes need to hold more then just pins, mine got keys too.

Oh, I love this. I love seeing all the little things that end up in boxes or drawers or baskets. I especially love the little clip, I used those a LOT back in the day. And I love the old hairpin and the hatpin, am I going overboard here? This is just a really, really great shot, and yeah, I love it!!!!

We've all got one of those boxes, or two or ten! Those safety pins with the attachment for hanging something are very curious, not seen those before! A really great shot.

We used to have pin box mush the same as yours Tara, full of all sorts of little things, as well as the pins, buttons and odd keys just like these. Hat pins and broken chains. As Andrea puts it we all have one, or two, or ten, I tend to use old OXO tins and tobacco tins as well. Excellent capture my dear, such a warm glowing light that gives a golden tinge to the items. Bravo!!!!! You learned your lesson well.

Yup, that looks like what's always been in pin boxes I've had...except a lot neater than mine ever were! I love how the hatpin pearl is glowing...beautiful shot!

OH! Tara what a great idea, and thanks for the dedi, you know this shot started to invoke so many childhhod memories for me, especially the hair slide, we used to fire these at targets with a rubber band across forefinger and thumb :)...The brighter lighting has made a surreal feel to this, well done!

Gosh, you brought back the memory of those safety pin rings! They were a must in every household when I was younger. We had several all jammed with pins...safety pins were as necessary as toothpaste or a darning bulb. :-) Very much the same as what my mother kept in hers and not even close to what is hidding in mine. (and I'll never disclose what is in mine...LOL)

Great light and focus Tara! When we were kids, mum had a little box with all this sort of stuff in and a button box too. Many a time she would sew a button on some clothing of mine and you could guarantee that it wouldn't match the rest of the buttons lol!
