Description

[Please click on image for full size] "They were once nine strong..." Just trying some different lighting techniques & setup, inspired by a particular tv series. E-cigar to who can guess it... ;) Not as large of a render this time. I can always fix that if requested. 100% pure render, no postwork, save signature. Thankyou for viewing. Comments, constructive criticism and opinions are always and especially welcome.

"We are grey, we stand between the darkness and the light" Unless I'm greatly mistaken, the Grey Council of the Minbari (Babylon 5) is your inspiration, and very well done too :)

Thanks guys! ian_colette: you nailed it spot on. The Minbari Grey Council from Babylon 5. E-Cigar for you! ;) I was playing with Carrara's hotpoints, thought about those Grey Council scenes and wondered if I could achieve something similar. And I did manage a 1680x1050 sized render, just took a while...

Hee.. Spacer thanks for the many great texts you posted to my images.. i like it that it has no postwork.. i do it pure too the "9" is great.. as the lights are still on.. but the old one is all that remains... i know you thought about Bab-5.. about full size.. images are made full size so I almost always (if the image is worth it) watch full size.. also in this case.. for sure

popeslattz - its entirely what the viewer makes of the image ;) If thats what it looks like to you, thats cool to hear too! If I had colored the armor green, I might've been also getting Master Chief Hmm, I just have to try playing around with that ;) Your very welcome efron! I'm not good at doing enhancing / finishing postwork, while some people excel at it. I pretty much rely on getting the render as best as I can and know how (forever a learning process of new skills), and at the same time, if I need to re-render it or revisit it, I havn't lost any time or effort on doing postwork :) Yeah, I default my viewing preference to full size also. Ok, I made a full 1680x1050 version, wasn't quite pleased how the dust/fog in the beam of light turned out. So I went back and cracked up the pixel precision, shadow precision and lighting quality & precision to 1 pixel and gave it another try. Took almost 9 hours overnight... I'll add it in a bit...

I really like this one. Very simple (at first glance), but very dramatic.
