Description
I've been using Poser for a long time now; but just last night I came to under stand how to use "Ambient Occlusion".
(So, this is what it did when I pushed the green button)
"Knowing this; should I go back into my hard drive closet and re-render some of my old favorites?"
(Or just keep moving forward, and don't look back?)

Great image. I vote for re-render. I've found that the best use for AO is probably on an IBL light if you are using one.

Nothing inherently wrong with re-makes . . . Unless you leave OUT "Gort! Klatuu, barada, nikto!" . . . Or you use actual frame stills of the untouchable original as storyboards and ORANGE blood at the Bates Motel . . . The blonde cavewoman with bright blue eyes and pouty lips insist the Hero stays after libertating her from the apes and he leaves ANYWAY. Not even the entire Funky Bunch could have saved that train wreck . . . Or the paid assassin is going to use a remotely controlled Russian 14.5mm anti-aircraft auto cannon to kill the First Lady instead of an ACTUAL world leader - sorry Hilary, go back to dodging imaginary sniper's bullets . . . And Greedo shoots FIRST . . .!!! Oh, nevermind! Stop listening to ME, listen to what the art tells you! I doubt you would have replaced shotguns with walkie-talkie hand radios when the FBI and State Troopers were trying to stop the boys from escaping with the gentle alien botanist . . . Excellent reflection of her companion in her glasses, too.

i definitely vote for just going forward. life is about learning and improving, and if you keep going back every time you learn something, you'll never get to make new things. i also have to say i've found that light based AO in Poser produces tons of errors as the bias gets too high for some places/objects (producing gaps) and too low and others (producing dark artifacts) simultaneous. material based AO allows you to have AO to help with her eyes and not produce weird artifacts on her body.
