Ruth lives in Colombia. She was age 6 when I discovered that she had been abandoned by her biological father, at which time I began sponsoring her. In one of her first letters to me, Ruth said, “I am very happy because in a far place called Oklahoma lives a person who loves me.” By the time she was 12, Ruth had declared to the World that I was her real earthly father. Afterwards, she ended her letters with a reminder that she was my daughter. You will never convince Ruth that I am anyone to her other than her father. She loves me as if she had been born my daughter. Yet, I have never been able to meet Ruth in person. Thus, over the years, Ruth sent me the photos in the collage so that I could see her grow up. I created the collage as an expression of my love for Ruth.
