Description


The cottage, trees and bushes are from DAZ3D, the background forest are billboards by foleypro and the background was made in Stellarium. Lit by the selfmade WhiteSphere HDRI.

The setting is perfect, the snow the lighting and sky. However your constellations are a little to crowded space them out more. Alos the chimney smoke does not look like smoke. Try either a volumetric on a stretched sphere or a cylinder or the texture smoke stack with less brown. Just some suggestions. I really, really like the snow in this and I am curious of how you did it! Looks fantastic!

Thanks all for your kind comments. Vile - you're right. I considered to project the constellations in a cylinder to map it correctly. Somehow, I found the strange distorted projection on a plane more charming. The chimney smoke would greatly profit if it were a bit more puffy. The snow is essentially the one that came with the cottage. I did some minor changes and also created new jpgs to fit the size of the terrains. A bit of fiddling sometimes makes a great difference. And the light changes everything again.
