Description
In March 1948 the US Army formed the Upper Atmosphere Rocket Research Panel. In order to study the ionosphere, solar and cosmic radiation, and micrometeorites, an army WAC Corporal rocket was mounted on top of captured German V2 rockets. Eight of these “Bumper-Wacs” were built and launched.
The Bumper Wac is significant for many reasons. It was the first liquid-fueled multiple stage rocket, It was the first rocket to place a man-made object into space, and on July 29, 1950 Bumper Wac 8 was the first rocket launched from Cape Canaveral.
Modeled in 3DS Max, textures created in Corel. Background made in Photoshop.
I hope you like it.
