Description

3 fractals created in Xaos and signed and layered in The Gimp. I just discovered that The Gimp also has fractal tools. So, I hope to explore those, too. This started out as a Xmas tree farm, then evolved into something more. Happy Holidays again and thanks for any comments you've given me or care to give. I have a lot to learn, but I think that's the beauty of this community--that there are a few caring souls who care to give honest input and encouragement when they have time to people who are at varying skill levels. Best zoomed. Thanks for looking! : )

Certainly fractaliciousness at its best! Looks like the trees have snow or icicles on them. A joyous holiday render.

As soon as I saw this I melted! Cold and wintery though it is supposed to be - it is an image filled with love, warmth, light and joy. It seems to celebrate 'life' at christmas time - rather than all the images of just plain old 'giving and receiving. Looking at it makes me feel at one with the whole universe and also enormously happy - thank you Cathy. We shall not cease from exploration And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time. Through the unknown, unremembered gate When the last of earth left to discover Is that which was the beginning; At the source of the longest river The voice of the hidden waterfall And the children in the apple-tree Not known, because not looked for But heard, half-heard, in the stillness Between two waves of the sea. Quick now, here, now, always— A condition of complete simplicity (Costing not less than everything) And all shall be well and All manner of thing shall be well When the tongues of flame are in-folded Into the crowned knot of fire And the fire and the rose are one. From Four Quartets by T.S. Eliot

This is a fine composition, Cathy. A whole forest of xmas trees. Beautiful fractal and colouring. Impressive piece of software, that gimp thing.

So everyone knows, Gimp and Xaos are both free and are part of the GNU Project for creating freeware.

an interesting image, full of colour and a feel of chrismas. im not familiure with the software your using but i have used gimp in the past and it is a fine bit of software available for free. i like the way you have processed this, the eye seems to be lead from the bottom of the image up through the trees to the disc at the top, in a way it looks like one of those balls that hang on a christmas tree. all the best, Clint
