Description
Can anyone understand?
Unless they wear my shoes
I hope they never fit another
The rubber breaks the soul
Am I so misunderstood?
The way I write
The way I talk
Stuttering or gesticulating
To get the words out
Will I ever heal from the pain?
Of anger and missed opportunities?
Will the tears stop falling?
An endless dripping stream
What is this brewing inside me?
Why is it there?
Why does it scare me?
Why does it open my eyes?
Will a kind ear just listen?
Will you respond in tune
When I read, think, and write?
Can words open new worlds
And thoughts rewrite?
Can I go outside the door
And inside my soul to breathe?
Can I learn?
To outgrow the fears
And maybe, just maybe
Find a patch of sunlight
For the blossom to bloom
And learn to smile again?
I mean really smile

This is the first of two pieces written in collaboration with my good friend Linda (hipps13) - and I hope there will many more... Thanks again Linda, it has been a wonderful experience working with you :o))
I must also thank Keith (photostar) for suggesting that Linda and I work together - your throwaway line has opened up a whole new avenue for creative exploration and strengthened a very warm friendship.
I highly recommend collaborative work - sharing ideas at this level is intensely rewarding, and really what a community like Renderosity is all about....

Use to be afraid of words did not really like to write but found in my travels how much it can share when two work together love the image as it speaks of many maybes' thank you Craig so much for the smiles warm hug, Linda

A beautiful poem, Craig and Linda. Yes, collaboration can be wonderful. You'll have see my picture with blankfrancine on her gallery I suppose - if not take a look. We may well be collaborating again soon I hope. These words are really wonderful and reach out to us, perhaps for support - but you can support each other in a way. Meanwhile, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I won't be around here for a while.

I admire anyone who can collaborate and make it work. As in any relationship it can have its ups and downs and it looks like you both have found a good creative match. I appreciate your words, and many can relate. I think what strikes me most about your poetry is its clarity and succinctness. A lovely image and poem.

Linda's work has always appealed, the brecity the clarity and with your collaboration here w e have something toatlly different and heart searching. The image? Reminds me of what we used to do in the 60's with oil lav lamps. Excellent Craig and Linda
