Description

A test render of a new prop for the Torture chamber/ Dungeon model I am building for http://luckydragonsden.greatnow.com/ and hope to have finished by the end of January The chair is based closely on an actual medieval Torture device that luckily Dick Chaney wasn’t aware existed. I would love to hear what you think of it.

as far as I know the original chair spikes were blunt, not sharp pointed. The torture consisted in long painful sessions, not sudden piercings ...

Actually before building a model I always like to do as much research as I can. That way I can create more accurate models. From what I have found from photos and descriptions of museum recreations the spikes on the chair were fashioned out of soft wood and brought to a point. And because of the number of spikes and the flexibility of the wood it was more like a bed of nails at the beginning. The spread of weight would cause very little penetration but over time with constant movement to try to relieve the discomfort combined with lack of rest they would begin to cause considerable pain after a lone incarceration.
