I cant even speak right now ... we are all so devasted heartbroken and full of tears .. A shelter near Toronto burned down yesterday killing 180 cats , dogs ( not sure how many )and smaller animals like bunnies hamsters etc The Toronto Humane Society was deeply saddened to hear of the tragic fire at the Oshawa shelter of the Durham Humane Society early this morning and the loss of life of so many animals. they lost 180 cats and could only could save 9 dogs and 2 cats Animals at the Durham Humane Society have lost their homes and The Toronto Humane Society has dispatched its rescue vehicles to the site to bring food, supplies and other necessities to the animals in need as well as offering assistance to the Durham Humane Society to find new homes for the animals. Some 180 cats were killed early Wednesday morning after a fire broke out at the Humane Society in Durham region, police said. Emergency crews managed to save nine dogs and two cats from the building As many as 40 smaller animals hamsters, rats also perished

How awful. Especially for the Society trying to save animals, and losing these, and to the suffering of the poor animals. Lord, have mercy. So very sad. Excellent tribute to this tragedy.

How tragic. So difficult and the visual perception of this is beyond comprehension. I think I mentioned not long ago to you that our shelter had to put down almost 100 cats because of feline distemper. One animal infected the entire population and in less than a week, every cat was gone. So senseless. This, however, is a beautiful tribute.

I knew when I clicked on the ebot notification that this render was going to be sad in some way. You immortalized their memory in your beautiful photo collage. THere are two large shelters near me and neither are in the best of structural conditions. I always worry about something like that happening here. Chin up, there Lu. Let's hope they didn't suffer too much.
