Description
John Betjman wrote a poem 'Christmas'
Provincial public houses blaze
And Corporation tramcars clang.
On lighted tenements I gaze
Where paper decorations hang,
And bunting in the red Town Hall
Says 'Merry Christmas to you all'
This was written in the unsophisticated 1950s and he considers too, more profound ideas on Christmas. I'll add some more verses as week goes on. This is fun......
