Description

Well, this is Zlata's first Christmas with me and I must say that she's very excited. We got the Noel Tree from the Pretty3D farms! Zlata got to decorate it. She asked for and got a Lyre from Dark Whisper. Aiko, Carol, Sarina, Bambi and Corinda are in the kitchen cooking up a pre-yule feast Which they will be serving soon. Although I've learned that Zlata likes fries, so it may be difficult to get her to eat anything else, at least that's what I hear from starlightpainter.. Zlata has been carrying around the empty cookie tier tray that she got from DAZ! No shipping which was great! I don't know what she did with the cookies, they're somewhere around Aery_Souls Wellroom, because I just don't think Zlata could have eaten all of them, but then again, she has surprise me and Peter... Thank you for your comments on the last posting and all the faves. I tried three different render techniques with this image and I have learned something very important: Raytracing takes forever to do... Normal render time with shadow-mapping was just over an hour, raytracing took 5 and one half hours for the same image and it came out darker! So, of the three, this one came out the best. I hope that you like it. I may redo this yet again and maybe add a few other people and see what happens. But unless I want the computer to run overnight, I'm not going to do anymore renders with raytracing..

How cute...wonderful render..!! I am wondering why it takes you so long to render....or maybe because the most I have rendered in Daz Studio would be a fae and not a whole scene. I usually just import my human figures into bryce and render the whole thing there..none of my renders has lasted more than 30 minutes.

precious work Mike! in my pc the renders take a lot of time too...but in my laptop the render time is very low even if i use raytrace. i´m not sure is it is about graphic card or processer. lovely work!!!

Very nice, Merry christmas. About the rendering time that used to happend to me a lot. Now with a different pc 64bits the render time with the difficult ligths, ray trace settings ligth dome enviroment, always take less than an hour.

Very good render Mike. The reality is high quality detailed renders take time. Just to give you an insight using a recent example here: All of those "Asteroid Valley" collabs I posted were a minimum of 1:31:+ or higher, renders in Bryce. 1 hour + Bryce render GENERALLY equals 3+ hours render to HDD as a photoshop doc. So I generally start those just before I go to bed, and it's usually 3 -5 designs rendering to HDD at a time.

Raytrace - you will have to use it if you want reflection off water, chrome...etc. Other than that, I don't know... Don't mark my words from it, because I'm no expert, but I think you only use that function for reflection. No presents under the tree, Where have I seen that before - lol... what am I saying, lol, I don't even have a tree - there's always next year (hopefully).
