something sacred about this mandi, can't quite find the right words, but it's there. For one, it looks like a Celtic cross though that may be coincidence; it's just that Celitc Christian art has a pre-Christian feel to it, and feels sacred pure & simple, cross culture so to speak. But more important, the upper circle feels like a wreath, and your many faces and overlays of primal-forms (like silk curtains) make this seem not only ceremonial, but gently rapturous. It's funny because there are many eyes here & faces in serious gaze—it seems a serious totem—but the gentle layers & the way you dissolve facial forms into organic forms (one of your trademarks) makes this seem opulent and an offering. I've always felt inner joy even in your most serious works, and I feel it here, like your heart & offering were behind all this; and this totem of faces and ornament emerges as an offering perhaps for the season, but just part of you. The palette says 'inward & gentle', I think it's touching & beautiful. A blessed season to you.
